it's about capturing
the feeling,
the moment,
the memory.
my style
As a photographer, I love being able to stop time and capture an instant that will never happen again. I want to create photographs that evoke memories and emotions and that tell personal stories. For me, each photo has a story to tell, it's not just about capturing a pose or expression but about capturing the feeling, the moment, the memory. My approach to photography is playful, nostalgic and natural. I prefer to let my subjects be themselves, have fun, and forget that they are being photographed. It is spontaneous and natural, capturing authentic emotions and candid moments; documentary style.

I believe being a therapist makes me a better wedding photographer because:
Therapy taught me to notice the subtle things- a lingering glance, a nervous laugh, the tender in between moments. That sensitivity helps me capture real, honest emotions.
I see the relationships that matter. The ones that show up in hugs, side glances, shared laughter, and silent support.
My therapy work helps me read the room. If someone is overwhelmed, if family dynamics are becoming an issue... I can gently adjust, be flexible, and support.

Kind words from kind people
"Mel did an amazing job on our family photos! Melanie is so down to earth and makes you feel so comfortable! There just aren't enough words to possibly describe how amazing each and every photo that Melanie snaps. She has a magical way of finding the perfect angle, lighting and of course expressions. She has captured the most special moments of my family's life. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my maternity pictures! She captured me so beautifully while pregnant. I have never felt so beautiful before! I would never hesitate to recommend her to anyone who needs amazing pictures!"
