a little less judgement + a little more curiosity
Art Therapy for the Parts of You That Words Can't Always Reach.
A space to create, explore, question, process, and reconnect with yourself.
Sometimes, words aren't enough.
Our experiences, emotions, and relationships with ourselves can be complicated. And sometimes, the things we struggle to express are the very things that need the most attention.
Art therapy offers another way in.
Through creative expression, conversation, and curiosity, we can explore the parts of your story that feel difficult to put into words. There is no expectation to be artistic, make something beautiful, or have everything figured out before you walk through the door.
This is a space for exploration, not perfection. For making a mess, asking questions, challenging old narratives, and discovering new ways of understanding yourself.
You don't have to know what you're creating. You just have to start somewhere.

A Little Bit About Me
Hi, I'm Melanie!
I'm a licensed professional counselor and board-certified art therapist who believes there is so much more to our stories than what we can put into words.
My approach to therapy combines traditional talk therapy with creative expression, allowing clients to explore their experiences in ways that feel meaningful, individualized, and authentic.
I have a particular interest in working with individuals navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, and complicated relationships with their bodies. I'm passionate about helping people challenge the messages they've internalized about their bodies, food, and worth, while creating space for more compassionate ways of understanding themselves.
My work is grounded in body neutrality, body respect, and a Health at Every Size®-informed perspective. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel seen, heard, and accepted without the pressure to change who you are or become someone else.
I also believe therapy doesn't always have to look like sitting in a chair and talking. Sometimes we paint. Sometimes we collage. Sometimes we make something that doesn't turn out the way we expected. And sometimes we just talk.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, and I want our work together to reflect that.

Just a few things you might be wondering
Do I need to be artistic to participate in art therapy?
Absolutely not! You do not need any artistic experience or ability. Art therapy isn't about creating beautiful artwork. It's about using the creative process as another way to explore and express yourself.
Do we make art during every session?
No. Art therapy sessions are individualized and may include art-making, traditional talk therapy, or a combination of both. We will work together to determine what feels most helpful.
What ages do you work with?
I work with adults and adolescents. Treatment is tailored to the individual's developmental needs, experiences, and therapeutic goals.
What if I don't want to make art?
That's okay! Art-making is never about forcing you to do something you're uncomfortable with. Traditional talk therapy is also available.
Do you specialize in eating disorders?
Yes. I have a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. Virtual therapy is available to clients located in Pennsylvania.
Where are in-person sessions located?
In-person art therapy services are offered through Bucks Support Services in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
